Your mission :

  • Examination and approval of the Contractors technical manufacturing and installation files of various mechanical equipment. The documentation oversight comprises mechanical equipment such as but not limited to steel structures, rotating equipment such as valves and pumps, heat exchangers, piping (steel and PEHD),etc.
  • Verify from a quality control point of view the conformity of the fabrication documents to be in line with the governing project technical specifications and codes and standards.
  • Conducting quality control missions during manufacturing of mechanical equipment which are purchased by the various contractors.
  • Assess the conformity of the fabrication and manufacturing progress during inspection missions at manufacturer’s premises in an international setting. You will verify that the goods are meeting the requirements set forth in the technical and upfront approved technical and quality documentation.
  • Issue in real time inspection reports following a predefined template.Provide feedback on encountered problems and propose solutions for remediation.
  • Remain in support for the closure of actions directly related to quality of the equipment.
  • Perform quality oversight during installation for the given project at the construction site in the region of Mons, Belgium.
  • Work in close collaboration with the package managers for the different execution phases (foundation works, steel structure works, equipment installation works (fit-out) and commissioning).
  • Be integrated in the quality team as a part of a larger project team where reporting to the mechanical quality surveillance coordinator and the project quality manager.

Your profile :

* Mechanical / Electromechanical engineer with min. 3 years’ experience in a production environment or with construction site supervision;
* Experience in a product quality control environment having gained knowledge of destructive and non-destructive examination techniques is an asset;
* Motivated by site supervision throughout the various construction phases;
* Capable of performing short term international travel (2 – 3 days per week) during the equipment purchasing stage of the project
* French or Dutch speaking with a proficient professional knowledge of the English language

Additional information :

  • Presence on construction site required during installation stage.
  • Inspection missions required to be performed at equipment procurement stage (2 – 3 days/mission, in Europe).
